Hi all! So, last week was a weird one. I didn’t get a lot done out of things that I usually like to keep on top of.
Spiritual practices and Spiritual hygiene are always at the top of my list, and on my list every day. But last week, life happened. Human stuff that needed dealing with and addressing. As with most things we have to deal with on a human level, it bought up more to think about and consider. So not much Reiki was done, meditation, crystal work, writing or studying. Add to that social media posting and research and I felt like I was drowning. I felt bad. Guilty. But why?
Let’s be clear here, Crystals don’t judge. Reiki won’t storm off in a huff if a day is missed and refuse to show back up again. I won’t lose the ability to meditate with a few days off.
So, there was me looking at my Crystals feeling awful that I hadn’t spoken to them (yes I do do that), thinking they were having a team meeting about my life choices and lack of accountability of late. I was convinced they were losing their lustre while I sat there contemplating. But then I remembered. My Spiritual ‘maintenance’ has no expectations of me. There is nothing written anywhere that we had a service level agreement. My connection to me is not measured by how many times I have Meditated, used Crystals or done self Reiki.

Crystals especially have been hanging around for millions of years, so they can cope if we have a busy period of life. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is be. Make a cuppa and stop worrying about ticking boxes and trying too hard. It isn’t always about ceremony and incense, sometimes we just need to breath. My Spirituality is not a to-do list, it is a way of being.
Last week allowed me to realise this. Self care and Spirituality can happen in ways we haven’t realised. For example, I did 2 practices last week that I had over looked for a good while. I didn’t force them, they just came to me. Each morning before I sat up I have been performing a Gassho Meditation using the 5 Reiki Principles. I have also been working with the 4 Ho’oponopono Mantras each morning and throughout the day. This practice is to restore balance and harmony. Both have felt right to me to use and work with.
The point is that we all have a tool kit and the beauty is that we can add to this tool kit whenever we choose and we can cherry pick on what feels right for the day. The moment. We don’t have to use everything for fear of something feeling left out. Our higher self guides us to what we need in that moment. We need to trust the universe and the route it has mapped out for us.
Reiki is now back on my agenda and today I will also be cleansing my Crystals that I have closet to me as they are like little sponges and absorb each and every vibration and emotion around them. I know they haven’t judged me, they are far too busy being fabulous little pieces of Earth history for that. But as soon as I call them back in, they will be there. I am eyeing up a piece of Amethyst as I type and I am sure it just winked at me…………..
